Piano lessons in Hong Kong, tailor-made for individual needs, for all ages
Throughout my 15 years of piano teaching career in Germany and Hong Kong, I have helped students of all ages to deepen their understandings in music and conducted exams preparation when necessary. I have worked as piano teacher at the Munich Piano School and as music class teacher at Victoria Belcher International Kindergarten in Hong Kong, and at the English Schools Foundation.
I am familiar with the curricula of The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) and G.C.S.E. exams in the U.K., and the International Baccalaureate diploma. My piano pedagogical approaches are of the Russian and German schools. For beginners, I would introduce them to piano with the methods of Bastien, Alfred, John Thompson, Bach, Czerny, Burgmuller, Hanon, Anne Terzibaschitsch (in German); and an extensive repertoire of Classical and Contemporary music for diploma level students. I believe that ‘tailor-making’ individual piano lesson plans is the best way to suit students from beginners to advanced levels, of all ages.
I encourage my students to take initiatives in learning, and have strong expressions and convictions in their playing. Children and adults are inspired to develop an acute sense of musical awareness, individual characters, excellent aural skills, and broad knowledge in music theory and history. I have experience in teaching piano to children from three years old to adults who would like to learn Classical and contemporary music.
Piano and music theory lessons for children and adults can be conducted in English, Chinese or German (intermediate). Home lessons upon requests.
